Phuket Serenity is an independent wellness travel guide. To keep this site free to use — without advertising or paywalls — we participate in affiliate programs. This page explains exactly how that works.

What This Means in Plain English

Some of the links on this website are affiliate links. This means that if you click a link and make a booking or purchase, we may receive a small commission from the company you booked with. The price you pay is identical whether you book through our link or go directly to the provider — you pay no more, and in some cases affiliate arrangements allow us to surface discounted rates that benefit you directly.

The commission is paid by the booking platform or retreat provider, not by you.

Who We Work With

We currently participate in affiliate programmes with the following partners:

  • BookRetreats — an independent retreat booking platform covering yoga, meditation, detox, and wellness retreats worldwide. We link to their Phuket listings where relevant.
  • Klook — an activities and experiences platform operating across Asia. We use Klook links for specific experiences, tours, and airport transfers in Phuket.
  • GetYourGuide — a global activities and experiences platform. We link to GetYourGuide listings for select Phuket wellness experiences and activities.
  • Viator — a TripAdvisor-owned activities platform. We use Viator links for select Phuket experiences where they offer the best availability or pricing.
  • Individual retreat and clinic partners — some Phuket retreat centres and clinics run their own direct referral programmes. Where we participate in these, we note it within the relevant review.

We may add new affiliate partners over time. This page will be updated when we do.

How This Affects Our Recommendations

It doesn’t — and here is why we mean that.

Every retreat, camp, clinic, and experience featured on Phuket Serenity is here because we believe it is genuinely worth recommending, not because it pays a commission. Many excellent providers are listed here without any affiliate arrangement at all, simply because they deserve to be. Equally, we have chosen not to feature certain well-known retreats because we do not believe they deliver sufficient value — regardless of whether they offer a commission.

The commission rates across our affiliate partners are broadly similar. There is no financial incentive to steer you toward one booking platform over another. Our recommendations are based on which platform offers the best availability, pricing, and booking experience for each specific provider.

If we ever receive a free stay, complimentary programme, or any other form of compensation from a provider in exchange for coverage, we will disclose it clearly within that review. We have not accepted any such arrangements to date.

Regulatory Compliance

This disclosure is made in accordance with:

  • The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255), which require disclosure of material connections between content creators and the products or services they recommend.
  • The UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) guidance on online reviews and endorsements, which requires clear disclosure of commercial relationships in consumer-facing content.
  • The EU Directive on Unfair Commercial Practices, which requires transparency about commercial relationships in content directed at consumers.

Regardless of where you are reading from, our commitment to transparency is the same: we tell you when we have a financial relationship with a provider, and we do not let that relationship determine what we say about them.

Your Trust Is the Point

An affiliate travel guide only works if readers trust it. The moment our recommendations start being shaped by commission rates rather than honest experience and research, this site becomes worthless — to you, and to us. The entire reason Phuket Serenity exists is to be the honest, independent resource that the wellness travel space in Phuket currently lacks.
